Promoting Public Health

Life as a CHW

A message from the advocate behind the phone:

"As a community health worker, my scope of practice revolves around community engagement, providing health education, and coordinating all possible healthcare resources for families in need. The concept of public health is still often overlooked in today's society, but is undoubtedly essential for fostering professional development. I am proud to be a part of a system that not only leads families and individuals down the right path, but also elevates their sense of self."

Community Outreach

Kiara continues to build rapport with her local community while also nurturing her specific role as a CHW. She has and still attends a plethora of webinars and educational meetings to gain competence for one of the most overlooked communities in our society: our pregnant, postpartum, and mothers with young children. She manages the "Healthy Women, Healthy Families" Department and strives to support the women in need within Northern Jersey.

Collaborative Approach

The Healthy Women, Healthy Families Department would not exist without Project Self-Sufficiency. This non-profit organization is filled with conscientious and innovative individuals that meet endless bounds to bring their clients' vision to life. Project Self-Sufficiency uniquely works as an ensemble and are committed to ensure everyone in the community is heard and directed on their route of what they consider success.
